Chelsea continue to look at the Brazilian market for youngsters and are working towards securing another one for the future.
PL Brasil report that Chelsea are moving forward to sign Gabriel Mec from Gremio. He’s described as the club’s ‘gem’, but wouldn’t be able to physically move to the Premier League club until he turns 18-years-of-age in 2026.
This is a path the Blues are repeatedly following with South America and they could have almost a conveyor belt of talent arriving from the continent in the coming years.
PL Brasil report that Chelsea want Gabriel Mec to first sign a professional contract with Gremio, who they’ll then agree a transfer fee with.
They don’t want to attempt to secure the youngster for nothing, partly because they have concerns FIFA could take a look at the case to see if there was any ‘enticement’.
What level any fee would be at is unknown.
Chelsea are said to have presented their project to the youngster’s camp, and he’s interested in the move. The Blues are confident they’ll be able to secure a ‘positive outcome’.
