Reports from Brazil today reveal Chelsea’s upcoming offer to sign Sport Recife fullback Pedro Lima, which could see them beat Manchester City to the player.
According to ESPN Brasil, the Blues ‘signalled’ their €7.2m offer to bring him to Europe this summer, which likely means they’ve first made a verbal approach.
The story claims that Chelsea’s idea is to sign him now and send him to Strasbourg, where he’d stay loaned for at least one season.
Something similar is reported by Jornal da Paraíba, and they state that the Blues got in touch with the player’s agent Renatinho Guimarães.
It’s said this chase is part of the Blues’ strategy of investing in several young talents, with them having already signed a few Brazilian youngsters in the past couple of years.
