Having failed to impress during the first half of the season on loan at Nottingham Forest, Andrey Santos saw his deal cut short, forcing a return to Chelsea.

The Blues had no interest in using the young Brazilian, however, and another temporary move, this time to affiliate club RC Strasbourg was organised.

However, the Chelsea midfielder has yet to join up with his new team because of his participation at the Pre-Olympic tournament with Brazil, which came to an early end for him, as explained by L’Equipe.

Failing to help his nation qualify for the 2024 Olympics in Paris, the youngster will now head to France, and the newspaper claim he will arrive on Wednesday night to ‘undergo medicals’, especially blood tests, and then ‘sign the papers of his loan’ until the end of the season.

This means the Chelsea loanee is likely to take part in his first training session on Thursday morning, which so happens to be one open to the public.

The aim of this spell will be for him to spend a lot more time on the pitch than he did under Steve Cooper, totalling just seven minutes of Premier League football.
