Milan are currently looking at whether they can striker a deal with either Chelsea or Manchester City for a centre-back before the end of the transfer window.

That’s according to Corriere della Sera, who look at the Serie A club’s situation on Monday, claiming that with Sven Botman looking out of reach for the time being, since Lille aren’t interested in selling in January, other options are being studied.

Among those are Chelsea’s Malang Sarr and Manchester City’s Nathan Aké, described as ‘profiles analysed’ by the Italians.

The former of the two has been in the rumour mill for a few months now, since he’s only used sparingly by Thomas Tuchel and could find more regular football elsewhere.

As for Aké, the 26-year-old has started the last two Premier League games for Manchester City, albeit at left-back, which isn’t exactly his favoured role.

Thus, depending on whether Pep Guardiola feels the need to keep him going forward, a move could be organised.

We’ll have to see about either of those, but Milan are clearly keeping an eye on the situation due to them being fairly desperate to find a player to make up for Simon Kjaer’s injury, as Stefano Pioli was forced to start right-back Pierre Kalulu and backup Matteo Gabbia at the heart of his defence against Venezia.
