Chelsea are in the picture to sign RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Šeško, according to a report from Italy.
The striker has scored nine goals from 26 games this season and AC Milan are keeping close tabs on him.
That’s according to MilanLive.it, who state the Serie A side will now face ‘danger’ from Chelsea.
That’s because the Premier League side have made a ‘sudden insertion’ and joined the Rossoneri in chasing the 20-year-old.
Milan are aiming to bring in a new No.9 after this season and have had their eyes set on the Slovenia international for a while. Stefano Pioli’s side view Šeško as an ideal candidate but now have to face a challenge from Chelsea to try and sign him in the summer.
Mauricio Pochettino has Nicolas Jackson as the recognised striker at his disposal while Christopher Nkunku can also be used in the same position.
Jackson hasn’t scored for the Blues in the league since November’s international break. The Frenchman, on the other hand, had to wait until December to make his debut for the Blues and has two goals from six games so far.
Victor Osimhen is the priority target for Chelsea and has a €130m clause. The Napoli star is also wanted by other clubs and the west London club [currently 11th] could miss out on him if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.
Therefore, Chelsea are chasing Šeško, and MilanLive.it state his release clause is at €50m. This hasn’t pleased Milan who would be set for a two-way battle with the Blues.
