Chelsea are pushing to sign Inter Milan youngster Cesare Casadei after initial talks about him during negotiations for Romelu Lukaku.

That’s according to Gianluca di Marzio, who says that the Blues ‘insist on’ signing the 19-year-old central midfielder.

He first reported that Chelsea ‘continue to try’ to secure a deal for the youngster, with the prospect of a transfer first coming up in negotiations for Lukaku. Then he added that a first bid worth €7-8m was already submitted.

The player has ‘bewitched’ Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel and the Blues would now like to buy him outright.

Whether the offer would be accepted is up for debate as Casadei is a player Inter would not like to lose if they can avoid it.

Casadei has been a part of various negotiations this summer, though, first in those for Lukaku and in talks for Gleison Bremer as well.

Inter would like to have a ‘right of repurchase’ on the player, and that’s the main reason why Chelsea’s first attempt may still not be convincing. Still, the talks seem to have just begun.
