Following a number of claims that Chelsea were readying an offer for Elye Wahi, it appears to have arrived, although not in an official written form.
This comes from Mohamed Toubache-TER, who took to Twitter to reveal the latest information he had received about the Blues’ pursuit of the exciting forward.
He explains that Chelsea have made a ‘verbal offer’ of €25m, which includes bonuses, for the 20-year-old, who enjoyed something of a breakthrough season at Montpellier during the 2022-23 campaign.
A few reports have suggested that Todd Boehly and co. would want to sign the youngster to then loan him to Strasbourg, although there have been suggestions this isn’t something the player is overly keen about.
Wahi scored 19 goals in 33 league games last season, which caught the eye of a number of clubs, including Chelsea, but no official bid has been made yet.
Since this is a verbal offer from the Blues, it won’t go down as anything official, but the bottom line is: they are still trying and have made a strong first move.
Whether it’s accepted, however…
