Chelsea have reportedly made an offer for Malian star Seydou Dembélé.
According to a fresh report that certainly falls in line with their philosophy of bringing in the best young talent around the world, the Blues have made a mammoth €1.6 million bid for the young talent who is currently playing in Qatar.
AfricaFoot has exclusively revealed that several European scouts have been in attendance of the U17 Africa Cup of Nations, watching over the young player.
Dembélé has seemingly impressed Chelsea enough that they have made a hefty offer to persuade him to join.
In the tournament, he was voted Man of the Match twice in the first two matches, against Angola and the Central African Republic, respectively.
He has been nicknamed “Messi” by his closest friends, the report continues – while he is also of interest to Red Bull Salzburg, a partner of the Jean-Marc Guillou academy in Bamako, as well as FC Barcelona, who discovered him through the UFOA tournament in Senegal.
Dembélé is just 16 years old which means that if any deal is agreed he won’t be allowed to officially join Chelsea until his 18th birthday.
The Blues recently signed 17-year-old Geovany Quenda but he won’t join until next summer – while coming in at the end of this season following sealed deals from last year are Estêvão Willian and Kendry Páez from South America.
