Chelsea loanee Malang Sarr couldn’t convince Porto to go for his permanent signing, according to reports from the Portuguese media.
Newspaper Record is the one featuring an update on the players the Dragons are sending back to their clubs at the end of the season, and the Frenchman is one of them.
It’s claimed that even though Sarr is regularly used in the Portuguese league and in the Champions League, his form hasn’t been good enough for Porto to consider the move.
Moreover, Record adds that the 22-year-old has already shown his desire to be back at Chelsea once the loan spell expires.
Sarr joined Chelsea on a free move from Nice last summer, and was immediately sent to Porto on a one-year deal.
Even though Record says he gets regular playing time with the Dragons, that’s partially true, as he’s only made 19 appearances for the club so far.
The Frenchman has been used both as a central defender and as a left-back, and perhaps that could raise his chances of featuring for the Blues next season.
