Chelsea could be handed their chance to sign Vitor Roque from Barcelona this summer, with his relationship with the Catalans set to come to a head.

That’s according to AS, who explain that the Brazilian is a ‘volcano ready to explode’ and Chelsea are one of the sides potentially looking to take advantage.

Roque finds himself reaching a crossroads at the Camp Nou as he’s unhappy with the lack of playing time he’s been receiving since arriving in January.

Barcelona are looking at a potential loan deal, but his agents have insisted he will either play for Barcelona next season or leave the club permanently instead. There will be no loan deal elsewhere.

In the meantime, clubs are looking to take advantage and Roque already has around 30 inquiries from different parties to leave Barcelona next summer.

Chelsea are one of the sides who have ‘tested the possibility’ of signing him, although that may be dependent on departures first given their financial situation.

AS say the Blues are planning to go shopping on the market to hire a number nine who is already established in the elite and won’t need to adapt, but Todd Boehly and co could pivot if it becomes clear there is a deal there to be done.

They have the advantage of already being in contact with the player’s agent Andre Cury about the signing of Brazilian youngster Estevão and they could end up with a double deal as a result.

It’s a developing situation and dependent on what happens between Roque and Barcelona first, but the Blues are in the mix and eyeing up a potential opportunity.
