Chelsea are chasing German U19 ‘super talent’ Kofi Jeremy Amoako from VfL Wolfsburg as they continue targeting top talent.
That’s according to BILD, who report that Chelse have been watching the 19-year-old this season as he’s impressed on loan at VfL Osnabrück.
He joined 3. Liga side on loan from Wolfsburg in the summer and has been impressing since, establishing himself as a regular and their ‘defensive strategist’.
That’s attracted Chelsea, who have added the ‘defensive all-rounder’ to their list of future transfer targets.
In fact, according to BILD’s information, officials at Chelsea have already contacted Amoako’s entourage and presented him with a ‘concept’ for the future.
The youngster has a contract with Wolfsburg until summer 2026 and has already made his Bundesliga debut under Niko Kovac. He’s currently valued at €350,000 and Chelsea’s plan is to buy him at the end of the season.
they would then immediately loan him to sister club RC Strasbourg to gain match practice at a higher level. They like to use the Ligue 1 side, who are also owned by Blue Co, to develop their own talents.
The Blues are not the only club who have Amoako on their radar, though. Standard Liege have also shown an interest in the youngster.
Whether Wolfsburg will want to sell is up for debate and it is seen as conceivable that he could extend his stay with Wolfsburg. That would be dependent on him being promised good prospects under current manager Ralph Hasenhüttl.
If not, it seems Chelsea are lining up snap him up and add him to their growing list of youngsters to develop for the future.
