The League Cup final against Manchester City was Chelsea’s chance to turn things around and change the bad environment that has been surrounding the club for a few months now, but despite the good effort to take the match to the penalties shootout, that wasn’t enough to end the club’s bad streak.

That’s why the tense rumours continue, and today, claims from Italy are already taking Gonzalo Higuain’s form at the club as a problem, saying the Blues will forego signing him permanently at the end of the season.

The story comes from Arena Napoli quoting Italian journalist Lorenzo Amuso, who’s a correspondent in London and has been following the striker’s first month at the Stamford Bridge.

“The marriage with Chelsea is not working, even if there is no lack of justification, Higuain arrived in London after almost a month of inactivity, out of shape, and needs the physical condition to make the best”.

“The bench yesterday was a little unexpected, but it highlights the difficulties of Chelsea and the Argentine. By the way, most likely he will not be redeemed at the end of the season by Chelsea”.

Gonzalo Higuain was subbed in during extra time, and didn’t even take a penalty in the shootout. The striker now has two goals in six appearances for the Blues since his arrival in January.
