Chelsea are one of the clubs interested in signing Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele, according to claims today.

Bild journalist Christian Falk reports the Blues currently have the 25-year-old ‘on their transfer list’. He recalls that the player previously worked with Thomas Tuchel at Borussia Dortmund and they ‘appreciate each other’, which would clearly be key for Chelsea in any potential move.

His report, however, points out that despite being at the end of his contract with Barcelona, Dembele is not a cheap player to be signed.

It’s claimed that the forward recently demanded a contract worth €43m from the Catalan side, plus bonuses of €5m in case of a Champions League title and €2m for other potential trophies.

Even though Chelsea and many other clubs are said to be keen on signing Dembele for free this summer, it’s worth pointing out that his departure from Barcelona is not yet confirmed.

The Catalan media has been claiming there’s still a small chance he could stay with the Camp Nou side, since he’s been getting more prominence since Xavi took charge of the club.

He needs to make up his mind quickly, though.
