The lack of a work permit for Andrey Santos at Chelsea seems to have given Brazilian clubs a chance to sign him on a loan from the Blues, and that was more than enough for the local media to make big coverage of that situation in the past few hours.

A few outlets report that there are clubs who have already got in touch with the London side to talk about the midfielder, but they may now have found a frustrating development.

That’s because, according to Goal, Chelsea are not keen on loaning Andrey Santos back to South America.

It’s said they’re ‘interested in negotiating’ with European clubs even though most transfer windows are now closed.

That would only give him the chance to move to countries like Serbia, Romania and Croatia, although perhaps a good destination would be Shakhtar, who previously worked with Chelsea in the deal for Mykhaylo Mudryk, as the Ukrainian window opened on January 30th and closes on March 1st.

However, we have to make it clear Goal have not said this last and that’s just us suggesting a possibility there, especially when you take into account the history the Donetsk side have with developing Brazilian players.

Still, Goal claims there’s still ‘confidence’ from the player’s staff that the working visa will be granted.

The player doesn’t have the necessary points yet, but may achieve that after the U20 South American Championship, which ends this month.
