Chelsea are expected to be active in the summer after not conducting any business in the last two windows.
The Blues have already agreed a deal with Ajax for Hakim Ziyech and he’ll arrive at Stamford Bridge in the summer.
According to Calciomercato, Frank Lampard’s side have been pressing for Genoa’s Nicolò Rovella.
The 18-year-old came up through the ranks of the Italian club’s youth system and made his first team debut against Ascoli in December. Later that month, he came on as a second half substitute to make his league debut against Inter Milan at the San Siro.
It’s claimed the Premier League side’s idea is to send a scout to Italy, hoping that the player would be given an opportunity in the first team.
Inter Milan are also interested in the teenager and they continue to monitor him, due to the ‘fear of being surprised and anticipated by Chelsea’.
Genoa, however, are trying to arm the midfielder by offering him his first professional contract.
Rovella has played a grand total of 31 minutes for Genoa’s first team and the Italian outlet states that Chelsea’s management have ‘identified’ the midfielder as ‘one of the possible pieces’ to rejuvenate the squad for next season.
