Earlier this week, the Brazilian media revealed that Chelsea currently have a representative in São Paulo, who will be present at Palmeiras’ game tonight.
The trip has everything to do with the Blues’ efforts to sign Estevão, as besides watching him from close, the club will try to advance in the negotiations for him.
Journalist Jorge Nicola now shares a new story on that situation, and actually brings some more interesting information on the chase.
It’s first said that this ‘big boss’ from Chelsea will only watch Estevão as a formality. That’s because regardless of how he does against Independiente Del Valle tonight, the Blues already decided they want to sign him, and the trip to São Paulo was made to close the deal, potentially even tonight.
We all know the Stamford Bridge side stand close to an agreement with Palmeiras, and there’s a good chance the clubs will soon shake hands for a €65m package.
Now another interesting claim by Nicola is that Chelsea’s representative also swatched another game in São Paulo. That was Corinthians’ 4-0 win over Argentinos Juniors last night.
The journalist says he has no information if that was a scouting trip, so he won’t speculate about new targets for the Blues. Still, that’s something we should keep an eye on.
