Maurizio Sarri has left Napoli and he has been replaced by Carlo Ancelotti at the Italian club.
According to Calciomercato, the 59-year-old manager is the firm candidate to become the new Chelsea manager. The Blues currently have Antonio Conte as their boss at Stamford Bridge.
Conte will be shown the exit door after he failed to guide the west London club to a top four finish in the league. The Premier League outfit are “more and more close” to parting ways with their current manager.
Calciomercato claims there is a meeting scheduled between the leaders of Chelsea and Sarri today. During the meeting, Chelsea and Sarri will “try to find an agreement”.
Apart from Chelsea, Zenit St. Petersburg are also interested in bringing Sarri to Russia as Roberto Mancini’s successor. The ex-Manchester City manager left his position at Zenit and was appointed as new Italy coach earlier this month.
Zenit are ready to pay an annual salary of €6 million plus bonuses to convince Sarri to join them. However, the former Napoli manager isn’t so keen.
