Chelsea are yet to show any interest in Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz, with it ‘very unlikely’ he will move to the club this summer.

That’s according to Sky Germany, who have dismissed rumours from England that Chelsea are pushing hard to secure the 20-year-old’s signature this summer.

Reports emerged in England yesterday that the Blues were keen to sign Havertz as Roman Abramovich continues to back manager Frank Lampard in the transfer window.

They have already completed a deal for Ajax star Hakim Ziyech this summer, while a big-money move for RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner is also apparently close to being completed.

Havertz has been named as the next on their list, with a whole host of European sides keen on his signature after an impressive season in which he’s scored 15 goals and registered eight assists in 38 games thus far.

Sky Germany refute those claims though, and say, according to their information, that a move to Stamford Bridge is ‘very unlikely’.

They report that Chelsea have not yet ‘deposited interest’ in Havertz, let alone negotiated a deal with Bayer Leverkusen for his signature.

That is the opposite to what has been claimed in England, even by their colleagues at Sky Sports UK, who have reported that Chelsea ‘want’ Havertz this summer.

According to Sky Germany however, it is Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester United who all have ‘good chances’ of signing the 20-year-old.

United, in particular, seem to be pushing hard, with it claimed they have been ‘working hard’ on convincing Havertz to move to Old Trafford.

As far as they are concerned, where Havertz will go is ‘far from certain’ although whatever happens, it will be in a big-money deal.

Leverkusen was a ‘three-digit’ sum for their star player although that is likely to be in a transfer fee plus various bonuses agreement, which they believe could be something similar to €80m plus €20m bonuses.
