There are only two days after this before the summer transfer window slams shut and Victor Osimhem remains a Napoli player.
Chelsea were previously interested until they backed away, but there could now be a chance of signing Osimhen for a cheaper fee, as Napoli are desperate to sell him before deadline day.
Gazzetta dello Sport, as relayed by AreaNapoli, state that Chelsea have now returned to the fray for Osimhen.
The Blues look like they want to execute a quick deal as yesterday they reportedly ‘picked up the phone’ and contacted Osimhen’s agent Roberto Calenda. Chelsea are said to have promised him that they will make an offer in the next few hours for the striker.
They want to sign him on a permanent deal and Osimhen wants to stay in Europe, despite interest from the Middle East.
He thought that Paris Saint-Germain would’ve been the perfect move for him, but that didn’t materialise.
Osimhen would now be willing to give up on playing Champions League football for a season and join Chelsea. Playing in the Premier League has been a ‘dream’ for the Nigerian and it could now come true.
