Chelsea have already improved their attack by signing David Datro Fofana, João Félix [on loan from Atlético Madrid] and Mykhailo Mudryk in the winter market.

The Ukrainian sealed a move to the west London club on Sunday, and the club continue to be linked with more forwards.

Last Friday, a report linked Chelsea with a move for Noni Madueke. Later that day, PSV Eindhoven manager Ruud van Nistelrooy admitted there is interest in his winger. He played the full 90 minutes in his side’s 2-2 draw against Fortuna Sittard on Sunday.

Journalists Sjoerd Mossou and Johan Inan discussed Blues interest in the 20-year-old in Algemeen Dagblad’s podcast.

According to AD, the ‘first bid’ from Chelsea for the England U21 international has arrived. They don’t point out the details of the offer and there’s no mention of whether it was made before Graham Potter’s side completed Mudryk’s signing.

According to Inan, PSV could give up winning the title this season if they sell Madueke to the Premier League side.

“If PSV sells Madueke, then you actually say: look at it with the national title. We’re not participating this year,” Inan said.

Mossou, meanwhile, has a different take on this case.

“But if you can get that much money for a player who often loses half the season due to an injury. Then I understand that you are considering it,” he adds.

After Sunday’s match, Van Nistelrooy insisted he would like to retain all his players until the end of this season, but stressed he doesn’t have full control on this subject.

Eindhovens Dagblad journalist Rik Elfrink highlights this on Twitter and adds the manager’s comments make it clear a potential deal to take Madueke to Chelsea is not yet off the table.
