Chelsea and Manchester City are the clubs in the picture for Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise. Two days ago, TuttoMercatoWeb reported the Citizens are ready to spend the ‘necessary amount’ to sign him to replace Riyad Mahez, who joined Al-Ahli.
RMC Sport state the winger has no shortage of clubs interested in him after he starred for Crystal Palace last season, scoring two goals and registering 11 assists from 40 games.
Chelsea and Manchester City are the two clubs mentioned.
It’s said the Blues have ‘an agreement in principle’ with the 21-year-old and have ‘made a verbal offer’ of around €30m to Roy Hodgson’s side.
Olise picked up a hamstring injury while he was with France’s U21 side in June, forcing him to withdraw from the U21 European championship. Mauricio Pochettino’s side are waiting to find out more about his situation, before sending a written offer to Crystal Palace.
Apart from Chelsea, there are other clubs interested in the player, with Manchester City ‘in particular’. Pep Guardiola’s side ‘closely follow’ Olise as they identified him as a candidate to replace Mahrez.
As it stands, the report states the Frenchman has a ‘slight preference’ to joining Chelsea over other clubs.
RMC Sport add Crystal Palace have included a release clause of less than €40m in Olise’s contract, and whether the Premier League duo are ready to match it remains to be seen.
