Chelsea will work to sign João Félix on a permanent deal, according to reports from Portugal.
Newspaper Record today writes that even though the loan from Atletico Madrid includes no buying option, the Blues will try to get him bought at the end of the season.
It’s said Chelsea are ‘very happy’ with Félix, being ‘very satisfied’ with the professionalism and the level of exhibition he’s been showing since joining them, and believe he can ‘catapult’ the club back to a top level.
The Blues are expected to need ‘a lot of diplomacy and financial capacity’ to get such a purchase done, and according to the story, they do have both.
The club then ‘will negotiate’ for the permanent signing when the time comes. For now, there’s no information on how much Atletico Madrid will ask for the sale.
Félix himself is said to be well adapted to the club and city, especially because he’s been having freedom to play his way there, and that makes it sound like he’d be fine with the operation as well.
Since joining Chelsea in January, the player has one goal in six appearances, and was a starter in all Premier League games he was available.
