According to a claim in the German media, Hamburg could be forced to sell Jann-Fiete Arp next summer, if the youngster doesn’t commit himself to the club.

The 17 year old was linked with a move to Chelsea this summer after the Premier League side offered the forward a ‘lucrative deal’

Arp recently made his debut for Hamburg, and the player has already lived up to the hype by scoring two goals in as many games for the Bundesliga side. However, this is likely to have brought unwanted attention, and Hamburg Morgenpost have reported the German side are desperate for Arp to extend his contract beyond June 2019.

Hamburg sporting director Jens Todt said last month they need to tie Arp down to a longer contract, but if they’re unsuccessful the player could leave HSV at the end of the season.

Hamburger Morgenpost say this could give the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and even Real Madrid the chance to come in for the player in the next summer window.

During the last window we covered reports from Germany that Chelsea were keen to sign Arp in the summer, and despite offering the forward a contract he committed himself to Hamburg.

Arp is seen as the jewel in the crown at Hamburg, but unless his future is secured the likes of Chelsea still have a reasonable chance of signing him.
