Le10 Sport have what they present as an exclusive on the future of Thiago Silva.
The Brazilian joined Chelsea in the summer transfer window, after his contract with PSG had expired. Having become a legend in the relatively short history of the French club, the defender’s exit was under something of a cloud with suggestions he would have stayed had a new deal been proposed in the right way.
Instead, he left Thomas Tuchel and Paris for a new adventure in London and has now found himself under the orders of the German manager again. The 36 year old has recently been out with injury issues, but has played 21 times for Chelsea already this season.
Le10 say the Premier League club, and presumably their manager, are fully ‘convinced’ by the player and the ‘trend’ is currently leaning towards keeping him at Stamford Bridge beyond the current season.
Therefore, the Blues would make an offer of a further season to Thiago Silva, something they have in their power with an option to extend. Should the veteran feel he can still perform at the highest level, then it’s pointed out it’s a good chance for him to continue with his aim of winning the Champions League.
