Chelsea and Inter Milan have a good relationship following the deals involving Romelu Lukaku and Cesare Casadei.

The latter’s sale was formalised on Friday, and prior to the confirmation of the 19-year-old’s arrival at the west London club, reports in Italy discussed the Serie A side are looking at Trevoh Chalobah.

It was also explained the Nerazzurri asked Chelsea for information about the centre-back when the two clubs were negotiating for Casadei.

Simone Inzaghi’s side are keen to sign a new centre-back before the window closes, with Lazio defender Francesco Acerbi is among their options, but Corriere dello Sport state they have taken precautions to sign him.

Inter want to see whether another option will emerge or if Chelsea can be persuaded to let go of Chalobah. They are ‘waiting to understand’ the Blues’ position for a loan deal and any other possible conditions that could be attached to it.

Gazzetta dello Sport on Monday discuss Acerbi and Borussia Dortmund’s Manuel Akanji as options, along with Thomas Tuchel’s man.

It’s said Lukaku is behind interest’s interest in the Blues player. The Belgian, who knows Chalobah from his time at Stamford Bridge, has informed the Nerazzurri leaders about him.

The newspaper states the West London club are only looking for a dry loan deal, without any possible option or obligation to make the deal permeant.

It is for this reason that Inter chiefs Giuseppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio intend to make one last attempt with the Chelsea leaders.

However, Corriere and Gazzetta are both stating it will be complex for the Italian club to sign a central defender.
