Chelsea and Los Angeles FC have an agreement for the transfer of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to claims on Wednesday evening.
French outlet Le10Sport today writes that the striker is now ‘very close to leaving’ the Blues, following advanced talks for his move to MLS.
It’s said a deal between Chelsea and LAFC was reached ‘in recent hours’, and there are only ‘a few details’ left before the transfer is complete.
Aubameyang is set to join the Californian side on a loan deal, and that would help the Blues save a ‘significant’ amount of his salary, as he makes €9m per season there.
Le10Sport highlights the fact that following the heavy investment made in the January transfer window, Chelsea are looking to get rid of a few players. Following the departure of Jorginho to Arsenal, there are now ongoing talks for Hakim Ziyech’s move to the United Arab Emirates and Auba’s transfer to MLS.
Despite having 18 appearances for the Blues this season, Aubameyang has been of little use for Graham Potter lately, and last had a start in early January. His contract with the club runs until 2024.
