Chelsea have been fairly active on the sales front this summer, with Ian Maatsen, Lewis Hall and Omari Hutchinson already moved on permanently. Another young talent in Cesare Casadei seems to be on the market, but the Italian’s future is yet to be fully resolved.
Fiorentina – as has been widely reported in Italy, are an interested party in the former Inter youngster. However, La Nazione have stated La Viola are ‘far away’ from sealing a move for Casadei and that is because of Chelsea’s demands.
The Blues currently want €20m to let Casadei leave, but Fiorentina stand at only €8m plus bonuses, which is too low for the English side.
The midfielder is said to be an appealing prospect to many, even though no other offers have arrived yet. La Nazione also mention that Raffaele Palladino’s side don’t quite see Casadei as a priority signing and he is only an ‘opportunity’ because of his current situation.
Considering that, it might take a reduction in Chelsea’s asking price for Fiorentina to seriously pursue a move for the 21-year-old.
Genoa’s Albert Gudmundsson is a much more important target but a move for him depends on player sales.
