On February 14th, we covered claims from Spain which stated Chelsea contacted Marc Casadó’s agent in January, but he didn’t want to leave Barcelona.

El Desmarque backs up the Blues’ interest to sign the 21-year-old in the winter market and provides more on their failed efforts.

The defensive midfielder graduated from the La Liga side’s academy and was promoted to the first team in 2022. He’d made five appearances for them until the end of last season.

Last summer, Chelsea wanted to take Casadó away from Barcelona and even made a bid. The details aren’t mentioned, but it wasn’t entertained by the player. This information is provided by journalist David Ibáñez on El Desmarque’s Twitch channel.

“Chelsea were interested in him and made him an offer, but the player has no interest in moving,” he said.

Casadó’s decision to snub the Premier League club paid off as he’s played 2,360 minutes from 33 games so far this season. Chelsea were interested in him again in January and it’s not clear whether they made a new offer.

Barcelona have ‘no plans to sell’ the Spain international despite receiving offers. Casadó also wants to continue at the Camp Nou and the journalist claims Hansi Flick held talks with him.

“He [Flick] has spoken to him, that he has to be patient. He has acknowledged that he has to be aware of what he is going through,” Ibáñez explained.
