With all the talk surrounding Thibaut Courtois’ future at Chelsea, it isn’t surprising the find out the Blues are allegedly looking around Europe for the next gem, one that could replace the Belgium international in the long run.

Of course, until he actually moves to Real Madrid (or stays at Stamford Bridge), this isn’t something fans should be worrying about, but it’s always nice to know the club have a plan for the future.

However, there’s always going to be competition, and that’s what Foot Mercato are reporting on Thursday, as a number of clubs are fighting for Berke Özer, the 17-year-old Chelsea have their eye on.

The goalkeeper, currently under contract at Altinordu, is out of contract in June 2019, where he’s made six appearances this season, conceded 12 goals and kept one clean sheet.

As well as Antonio Conte’s side, Barcelona, PSV Eindhoven, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund have been monitoring his progress in Turkey’s second tier and for his national team’s U17s.

The youngster also sat on the bench for Turkey back in June 2017 when they faced Kosovo and Macedonia.

We’re not going to lie to you, we’ve never seen him play, but when big clubs are interested in someone that age who’s already been picked by his national team (albeit not there), the talent is probably there.

One to keep an eye on this summer.
