Kenan Yildiz has emerged as a major star for Juventus, but troubles regarding a contract renewal are attracting attention from Chelsea.
This comes from Gazzetta dello Sport, who look at the 20-year-old’s situation in detail.
They report that talks between Juve and Yildiz’s father-agent have slowed down. While there is a mutual desire to renew, problems are caused by the wages on offer from the Italian club.
The Turkey international’s father-agent wants a higher wage since the player has become a mainstay of the first-team. Juve, so far, haven’t met the level required.
The newspaper claim that Chelsea offered €70m for the attacker in the summer.
This was rejected by Juve CEO Damien Comolli but the Blues are now ‘ready to attack’ with another approach. They are monitoring the contract renewal discussions as they smell an opportunity.
Chelsea are likely to face competition from Barcelona, who it’s said want to unite Yildiz with Lamine Yamal. As of now, the talent wants to stay in Turin. Everything depends on progress around his new contract.
So far this season, the Turkey international has one goal and three assists in Serie A.
