As well as fighting off Paris Saint-Germain as the Ligue 1 side attempt to sign Milan Skriniar, Inter are looking for a new centre-back.
Their main target is Borussia Dortmund’s Manuel Akanji, but should that fail to take place, other names appear on their wish list, including Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah.
The news started off in England, but Gazzetta dello Sport have a bit more information, making it clear Inter ‘have discussed’ with the Blues about the centre-back.
The two sides have a good relationship, following the deals involving Romelu Lukaku and Cesare Casadei, meaning any talks would start on a positive note.
This is echoed by Gianluca Di Marzio, who stated Inter have ‘asked for information’ about the 23-year-old.
The request came during the talks for Casadei, as the 19-year-old is now on the verge off signing for Chelsea in a package potentially worth €20m.
When it comes to Chalobah, Inter’s idea would be a loan, but ‘that doesn’t seem to please the English, who will not open to this solution’.
This means getting the 23-year-old ‘could be feasible only if the Nerazzuri decide to sink the blow with conviction’, which isn’t the case just yet.
