During the weekend, Chelsea winger Willian mas made it pretty clear that the players’ relationship with manager Antonio Conte wasn’t very good.

Claiming he would have left in case the boss stayed, the player just extended what he had already told the Brazilian media a few days ago.

But it seems that David Luiz doesn’t want to make things so public. Even though his bad relationship with the manager was widely known, he has dismissed it when speaking to ESPN Brasil this weekend.

Asked by reporter João Castelo Branco if there was any problem with the former manager, David Luiz said: “No, I had, as you mentioned, bad times with the injuries. That didn’t let me repeat the same season I had in the first year with Conte.”

“That too, many times, perhaps, did not please (him). And then I focused solely and exclusively on my health, where I got back well for this season.”

Then talking about the new boss Maurizio Sarri, David Luiz claimed to be happy to play under a coach of such type: “I like his style. It’s a game of high pressure, high ball possession, an offensive game, where tactically you must know what to do at all times of the match. So we work hard on it, I like it a lot.”

“I’ve had the opportunity to work with coaches who are a bit similar to him, as well as Jorge Jesus, who really likes this style of play. So once again I’m happy, regardless of 4-4-2, 4-3-3, 3-5-2, it’s always good to be willing and healthy to do what you love.”
