Chelsea were one of the teams to contact Barcelona youngster Marc Casadó in the January transfer window.
That’s according to Cadena SER, who report that Chelsea ‘touched the player’ despite his determination to remain with Barcelona.
They report that different teams from the Premier League have ‘asked for months’ about Casadó’s situation, with his great performances in Barcelona’s youth ranks having caused interest to rise in the summer when he was available on a free.
Hansi Flick told the player that he was a part of his plans, though, and so the midfielder rejected any offers to fulfil his dream of playing for Barcelona’s first team.
He renewed for three season and is now a regular under Flick, but that has not stopped the calls from coming in.
One of those who have continued trying is Chelsea. They were interested in the summer and approached him in recent week to find out about his current situation.
He was uninterested, though, as he has three years remaining on his deal at the Camp Nou and is convinced about his future at the club. He thinks he can win the league and the Champions League at his boyhood club. They are equally convinced about him.
Thus, a move to Chelsea to anywhere else is of no interest to him, despite the Blues getting in touch with his entourage.
