Following Chelsea’s failed attempts to get Gabriel Moscardo signed from Corinthians, we recently saw rumours saying Barcelona joined that race.
It was claimed in the Spanish media that the Camp Nou side found an opportunity and would now battle for the 17-year-old as well.
That’s the reason journalist Jorge Nicola now shares a fresh story on this situation. And according to him, it’s still Chelsea who have the lead for this signing.
The reporter claims to have spoken to one of Moscardo’s agents. This representative said: “For now, there’s nothing concrete regarding Barcelona. Just speculation through the media”.
The agent continues by claiming Moscardo has been analysed by several European sides, including Chelsea.
The Blues are the only who club who have made official offers for the midfielder so far. The first was worth €20m and the second was €23m.
Corinthians didn’t accept either of them, but Moscardo is still expected to be sold in the January transfer window.
Now it’s up to Chelsea to raise their bid and hope that the other interested clubs don’t come with aggressive attempts to land the youngster.
