Chelsea have now completed the signing of Pedro Lima from Sport Recife, according to reports from Brazil.
TNT Sports writes that the fullback is already a Blues player, following a deal which could reach as much as €10m.
The outlet adds that Lima is expected to be loaned by Chelsea to Strasbourg, at least in this first season.
In the past few days, the local media had already been claiming that there were advanced talks for the move, with club and player agreeing the final details with the Stamford Bridge side.
Even though Chelsea are already used to buying South American youngsters and loaning him out, there may be no option for them to hold him in this case, since Lima is unlikely to get a work permit.
That’s because he was playing in the second division for Sport Recife, and may need some top flight football before he gets the visa to be in the Premier League.
The fullback has been showing big potential though, and it’s no surprise he’s been linked to other European clubs and is part of Brazil’s youth ranks.
