Chelsea have failed in their first attempt to sign Gabriel Moscardo from Corinthians, according to reports from Brazil.
Gazeta Esportiva claims that the Blues’ first offer for the youngster was turned down by the Timão.
As previously claimed by the local media, Chelsea had put €21m plus €4m in bonuses on the table.
The story claims Corinthians consider Moscardo to be worth more than that. And they also have no hurry to sell him, as there have been many clubs who’ve show their interest in the signing.
Gazeta Esportiva highlights that the talks between the Timão and Blues are not over yet, and the Stamford Bridge side still have a chance of making a convincing offer.
It’s just worth pointing out that Chelsea need no hurry to get that deal done today.
Moscardo is just 17 and turns 18 in September. That means he wouldn’t be able to join the Blues in this window anyway, and the agreement would be for him to move in 2024, either in January or in July.
So even if Chelsea and Corinthians find an agreement in the coming weeks, that won’t change the initial plans.
