Chelsea and Newcastle United looked at David Oduro and Abdul Aziz Issah respectively in the summer window.

That’s what Wednesday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo are reporting, and Chelsea and Newcastle have lost out on the duo to Barcelona.

Oduro arrived at the Catalan club from Ghanian side Accra Lions on a permanent transfer. The 18-year-old winger joined Barca on loan from another Ghanaian side, Dreams FC.

Barcelona Atlètic ‘presented yesterday’ the two youngsters and Iván Cédric as their new signings. The trio are in contention for the clash against Unionistas this weekend.

The La Liga side were able to overcome competition from Chelsea and Newcastle to sign the 18-year-old left-back and Abdul Aziz Issah respectively.

It’s claimed the west London club were keeping close tabs on the fullback. However, Barca were ‘ahead of Chelsea’ and eventually won the race to secure Oduro’s services.

Abdul Aziz Issah had ‘attracted the attention’ of several European clubs in the last window. Newcastle get a mention, and the Catalan media seemingly want everyone to know Barcelona have beaten Premier League clubs to these signings.
