Chelsea signed João Félix on a dry loan deal from Atlético Madrid in the winter market.
The forward was sent off on his Blues debut in January and served a three-match suspension. Since then, he has made two appearances and scored one goal in the process.
Even though the Portugal international has featured only three times, Chelsea intend to buy him from the La Liga side.
Earlier this week, Marca stated Chelsea are preparing an offer to permanently acquire the 23-year-old’s services. This is further backed up by AS on Saturday.
Graham Potter is the ‘great supporter’ of his signing. Despite the red card against Fulham last month, Félix seems to have convinced the west London club.
It’s explained that such is the player’s impact at Stamford Bridge that Chelsea ‘already want to reach an agreement’ with Los Rojiblancos to buy him. Atlético CEO Miguel Ángel Gil Marín doesn’t accept it at the moment.
Félix’s departure from the Madrid club is conditioned on whether or not Diego Simeone will stay at Atlético next season. His relationship with the manager is broken, which is why he joined Chelsea in January.
Potter’s side, for now, have to convince Miguel Ángel Gil to have any hope of buying Félix from Atlético.
