Norwich City are on the verge of promotion to the Premier League, and it’s now only a matter of time before they confirm their top-flight status.

Leeds United had reasonably thought it would be them in this situation around about now, but a loss of momentum, and perhaps energy, towards the end of the season has cost Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

Now they don’t look likely to get second place, and will face an even more draining time going through the play-offs. This wasn’t how it was supposed to be at Elland Road, with years of disappointment thought to be coming to an end.

That’s not Norwich’s problem, and Tim Krul has given a few words to De Telegraaf about the Canaries squad watching Leeds lose 2-0 to Brentford.

Norwich were travelling, and waiting at Manchester Airport, when they managed to find a way to watch the match, and it was certainly exciting for them.

Leeds United’s loss has taken Norwich even closer to promotion, and Krul said: “The game was live on TV and the last minutes we cheered like fans of Brentford.”
