Everton deadline day signing Charly Alcaraz has ‘pleasantly surprised’ the Toffees medical staff with his performance in his medical.

That’s according to Bolavip Brazil, who report that Alcaraz has already made a positive impression on Everton after arriving on deadline day.

Alcaraz joined the Toffees as their only signing of the January transfer window on Monday, sealing a loan deal until the end of the summer after the Blues moved for him late last week.

That loan deal is likely to be made into a permanent move in the in the summer, with the agreement including a clause that will make the purchase clause an obligation once he has made six starts.

The big question is whether he will make those starts, with David Moyes seemingly settling on his midfield set up already and the return of James Garner and Tim Iroegbunam adding to the competition for places in Everton’s midfield.

However, it appears that he is raring to go and get stuck into that fight, with Bolavip reporting that Alcaraz ‘ended up impressing’ when he underwent physical tests with Everton’s medical team.

That’s led to ‘great expectation’ that he could be starting for Everton sooner rather than later, with such a good impression early on only likely to benefit him.

The decision will be Moyes’ to make, of course, but it’s all positive early on at Goodison in regard to their latest addition.
