Brighton and Hove Albion have been handed their opportunity to sign Juanlu from Sevilla, with the Spanish side very open to a deal taking place this summer.
That’s according to Vamos Mi Sevilla, who say the club would be more than happy to let the full-back depart for €10-12m.
They explain that this summer should be a busy one for Sevilla as Victor Orta needs to balance the books because of a lack of European football.
He also wants to completely reshape the squad after a disappointing season but needs sales to help him do so, so pretty much all of the current group are available for the right price.
That incudes Juanlu, who ‘has shown good characteristics’ but has a market and interested suitors, namely Brighton.
They were keen throughout the summer transfer window last year and continued to be linked all the way up to the January transfer window too, but a deal was never agreed, and he remained in Seville.
Sevilla, though, ‘would value selling him’ this summer for around €10-12m, an easy price for Brighton to match given the profits they made in the last year.
Whether they still want Juanlu isn’t clear, but they’re named as an interested party and there’s a deal there to be done if they want it.
