Napoli have made an approach for Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane, according to claims in the Italian media. The Serie A side are hoping to bring in a forward before the transfer deadline, but these reports they want the England international seem very ambitious.
Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio has this morning revealed the Napoli leaders have made an approach to Tottenham to sign Kane in this window, but this was, as expected, turned down instantly by the Premier League side.
Napoli recently sold their star striker Gonzalo Higuaín to rivals Juventus for a huge fee, and since then many forwards have been linked with a move, with Kane being the latest.
Despite Napoli’s approach for Kane, a deal is very unlikely at this stage, and the Italian side will have to look elsewhere in their pursuit of a new forward.
Along with Kane, Napoli have been repeatedly linked with an ambitious move for Inter Milan star Mauro Icardi since they sold Higuain, and also Juventus forward Simone Zaza, who of the three would be more achievable to sign.
