Galatasaray are showing interest in West Ham United midfielder Tomáš Souček, with the story breaking in the Czech media today.

It’s been well documented in recent weeks the Super Lig side are keen to add to their midfield. Cimbom have already been linked with his West Ham teammate Soungoutou Magassa.

The Turkish champions are keen to sign a central midfielder, given uncertainty over Lucas Torreira’s future. Torreira is hoping for a transfer to a South American club so that he can be closer to his family in Uruguay.

Cimbom are still fighting on all fronts and have a realistic chance of making it to the Champions League knock stages. They currently lie just outside the seeded qualifying play-off places, going into the final two games.

Infotbal.cz report on Galatasaray’s pursuit for Souček and state informal transfer talks have taken place for the 30-year-old. Those talks appear to have been with the player’s camp, rather than West Ham.

As yet no offer has been tabled by the Turkish side, and a move is looking unlikely.

West Ham midfielder would prefer England

Souček would prefer to remain in the Premier League despite interest from both Gala and their city rivals Beşiktaş.

Everton have been suggested as a possible destination for the Czech Republic international in the past, although there’s nothing serious in that regard at the moment.

Souček was part of West Ham’s Europa Conference League winning team under David Moyes and that encourages Everton claims.

Only yesterday we covered reports that Galatasaray had made an offer to West Ham for Magassa. Gala wanted to loan the French youngster, with an option to purchase.

However, the Hammers have rejected the proposal, for a player who only arrived in the summer window from AS Monaco.

Souček has made 14 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring three goals. He’s contracted to West Ham until June 2027 after extending his current deal in 2024.
