Wolves’ Yerson Mosquera is set to have his big Premier League chance with Wolves this season.
He’s already played all three games, playing the entirety of all the matches and showing why Wolves have kept him around since 2021.
Before breaking into the team this season, the centre-back had spent stints at FC Cincinnati and then at Villarreal, where he was a regular in the second half of last season.
Yellow Submarines CEO Fernando Roig has now spoken to Levante EMV about Mosquera, confirming that Villarreal tried to sign the South American this summer.
He hinted at the fact that Wolves had long planned for Mosquera to be a part of their squad this season.
“As for Mosquera, he is a player who performed very well in the second half of last season. He was very much loved by the dressing room and by the fans.
“The problem is that he belongs to Wolverhampton and counts for his club.”
The English side lost Max Kilman to West Ham in the last window and Mosquera’s presence has helped them fill the void he left.
So far, the decision is paying off and Mosquera is proving that he can be a reliable figure at the back.
