Tottenham have previously been mentioned as a suitor for Sassuolo’s Tarik Muharemovic. There are now signs of development on that front.
The Bosnian has really started to shine in Serie A this season. He’s made a mark physically and technically, showing significant ability on the ball and that he knows how to use his imposing stature well.
Sport Witness have covered how interest in the centre-back has soared this year. Tottenham have been linked and Inter Milan have been trying to push ahead of competitors.
At that point, we made it clear that Sassuolo would try to create an auction for their asset. That is exactly what seems to be happening now.
Carnevali in England
Sky Italia today report that Sassuolo are already planning for next season and the summer transfer window. CEO Giovanni Carnevalli is aware of English interest in both Ismael Kone and Muharemovic, with the report confirming that several clubs are in the chase.
To take advantage of that, the Italian has travelled to London. The objective is to speak to clubs in England – possibly Tottenham, about the two players.
They are Sassuolo’s most valuable players and there is every chance both leave in the summer.
Inter Milan remain in the race for the Bosnia international, Juventus are also interested and have a 50% sell-on clause in Muharemovic’s current deal.
Approach not a surprise
Sport Witness have previously explained that Sassuolo usually operate in this way. That is how they sold Gianluca Scamacca to West Ham, despite interest from Paris Saint-Germain.
In this case, sales to England will help them maximise their profits. Sassuolo wouldn’t want Muharemovic to end up at Juve.
Muharemovic can slot into any of the top Premier League teams right now, including Tottenham. He could also be a suitable replacement for Micky Van De Ven.
