It’s no secret the Italian media has been picking Lazio as the favourites for the Champions League clash against Celtic, as there’s confidence of a good result in Glasgow.
Now we get to see quite an interesting personality talking about the match against Brendan Rodgers’ side, and that’s Mario Balotelli.
The former Manchester City striker spoke to TvPlay about many Champions League games that are taking place this week. Quoted by La Lazio Siamo Noi, he also made some comments on the Celtic match, claiming Lazio have the obligation of leaving Scotland with a win.
“If Lazio play well… It would be strange if Lazio didn’t win. It’s their fault if they don’t win,” said Balotelli.
Earlier today, we have also seen former Rangers defender Lorenzo Amoruso claiming Celtic are ‘certainly inferior’ to Lazio for this clash, even though he highlighted that the atmosphere at Celtic Park should make things harder for the Serie A club
People in Italy may be sounding overly confident that the Hoops aren’t anywhere near Lazio’s level, and only Wednesday’s result will tell whether they were right or not, although these comments surely give Celtic players an extra motivation.
