Fenerbahçe are chasing Celtic target Henry Onyekuru according to Fotomaç. The Turkish giants are looking to replace Moussa Sow, whose loan contract will expire in 6 months, and Eupen’s winger-striker is a target for Turkish giants as well as for Brendan Rodgers.
Fenerbahçe boss Dick Advocaat said after the Başakşehir game: “We’re looking for quality in the January window. But we’re also planning the next season. If it’s available we are wanting to do the business early on.”
Earlier on Thursday we covered claims from Belgium that Celtic have made a €1.5m offer for Onyekuru, which was rejected. The player is keen on a move and has gone missing from his club, which looks like an attempt to force a move to Celtic Park or elsewhere.
Fenerbahçe may be prepared to pay more than Celtic, but Onyekuru is likely to have been impressed by Moussa Dembele’s progress under Brendan Rodgers, and that could help swing it Celtic’s way if need be.
Onyekuru believes Eupen have misled him over a transfer, feeling he’d be let go if a good offer came in. Celtic’s €1.5m may be considered a good enough offer by the player, but Eupen clearly don’t agree.
