Celtic‘s Luis Palma has been on loan at Lech Poznań since last summer. Martin O’Neill’s side have to make a decision on his Celtic Park future in the coming months.
On February 16th, the winger said he’s open to leaving Celtic permanently for the Polish club, who have a €4m purchase option.
Two days later, Lech Poznań spokesman Adrian Gałuszka said they are “absolutely open” to buying him from Celtic.
In recent weeks, there’s been claims of Sevilla’s interest in the Honduras international.
Last month, Sport Witness covered claims from Spain that the Celtic man’s camp are not aware of the La Liga side’s interest. The same source said the 26-year-old would be open to moving to a top league.
Celtic man’s future uncertain
Luis Palma enjoyed a good start to his loan spell in Poland before going through a rough patch. He regained form, managing four goals and two assists in last six league matches.
The Celtic owned player has scored 11 goals and contributed 10 assists from 46 matches for Lech Poznań.
Meczyki in Poland state it’s unclear whether he will continue at Lech Poznań next season.
When Canal+ Sport recently asked about his future, he said: “I have no information about my future at Lech. I don’t know if I’ll stay.”
The Ekstraklasa winners intend to retain the attacker and are in talks with Celtic.
Martin O’Neill’s side lowered the price to €3m and for this figure, Palma will still be the record signing for the Polish club. As of now, there’s no agreement between the parties.
Journalist Alvaro De La Rocha reported of Lech Poznań offering €1.5m and then improving their bid to €2.3m.

The Polish club’s board are ‘carefully considering their next financial move’ and are in ongoing talks with Celtic.

Luis Palma’s contract at Celtic runs down in 2028 and his value, as per Transfermarkt, is €3.5m.
