Celtic could be an option for Manchester United’s Hannibal Mejbri this summer as Brendan Rodgers’ side have set their sights on him, according to a report from Tunisia.
The midfielder has travelled to the United States, where Manchester United are currently on a pre-season tour.
Tunisian radio station Mosaïque FM talks about Celtic’s desire to sign the 21-year-old this summer.
Mosaïque FM say this is their original information, and sources have told them that Celtic are courting the Manchester United player.
It’s further claimed Celtic are ‘preparing to make an offer’ to secure Mejbri’s services on a permanent transfer. There’s no mention of the fee the Scottish champions would be willing to propose to the Red Devils.
The Tunisia international has less than a year left on his deal. Therefore, the report states Erik ten Hag’s side are willing to sanction his sale in this window, which would come as a boost for Celtic. It remains to be seen if this claim will be backed up in the UK.
Last season, Mejbri didn’t have a prominent role at Manchester United, and they let him join Sevilla on loan in January. His short spell in Spain was disappointing as he made only six appearances for the La Liga side.
