On Friday, we covered claims from Honduras that Lech Poznań which stated an agreement with Celtic to sign Luis Palma on loan with an option to buy. It was also stated he’d travel to Poland on Saturday to carry out medical test and his signing would be made official today.
The winger’s medical tests with Lech Poznań have now been delayed because he wasn’t in Poland on Saturday.
That’s according to Meczyki.pl, who say the Celtic player only arrived in Poznań on 2pm [local time] on Sunday. The 25-year-old is scheduled to carry out medical with the Polish club on Monday.
Lech Poznań have found an agreement with Brendan Rodgers’ side and have an option to buy the Honduras international for €4m.
Meczyki.pl add the club are working hard to complete the operation soon so that Palma can be in the squad for the Champions League qualifiers against Breiðablik UBK on Tuesday. The return will leg is scheduled on July 30th.
The Celtic man travelled to Poland from Honduras’ Ramón Villeda Morales International Airport. Diez.hn caught up with Palma before he boarded the flight and said he’s delighted to be joining a new club.
“Happy, when it comes to football, I’m always very happy. [The operation was] quick thanks to the agency [that manage me]. Very happy to be joining a new club,” he said.
The Honduran said he made the decision to leave the Scottish champions this summer.
“We were talking, and it was my decision to seek other opportunities,” Palma explained.
On the Polish league, he added: “I don’t know, but I know it’s a good league, with good stadiums, good teams, and we’re going to learn a lot from them. My goal is to keep going and stay in good shape.”
